| New Online Religion Resources Available The Cannon Memorial Library at Saint Leo University has two new resources which might be of great interest to Center for Catholic Jewish Studies e-Subscribers. of the recent additions to the Gale Virtual Reference Library, Encyclopedia
Judaica (2nd ed.) offers users access to an exhaustive and organized
overview of Jewish life and knowledge spanning from the period of the
Second Temple to the contemporary State of Israel. It includes information
on topics ranging from Rabbinic to modern Yiddish literature, Kabbalah
to “Americana,” and from Zionism to the contribution of Encyclopedia Judaica includes more than 500 maps and diagrams, and updates the first edition of the work. In addition to providing new insights into historical events and offering information on emerging theories relating to these events, EJ contains entries on subject matter not covered in the first edition. The encyclopedia is made up of 21 volumes arranged alphabetically (including a 22nd volume—the index). Users can search EJ by clicking Browse Publication Title on the Gale Virtual Reference Library Advanced Search page and then clicking on Encyclopedia Judaica in the left hand Select column and hitting submit in the right hand My Publications column. Users can also browse through the publication on the Basic Search screen by choosing “view publications” under Religion and then click on the title, Encyclopedia Judaica. This takes users to a description of the resource, and allows them to access an eTable of Contents, an eBook Index, and a list of illustrations. The
other addition to our Gale Virtual Reference Library selections is The
New Catholic Encyclopedia. This 15 volume set is the first new edition
in more than 30 years. With its newly updated articles, it’s designed
to be a single comprehensive source on Catholicism, featuring excellent
articles on theology, church history, and canon law. The new edition
also includes contributions that address broader topics such as ethics,
